Annotated Graduate Transcript

This course was part of my student internship year through the Michigan State University (MSU) College of Education. The focus of this course was to support me during my internship year while also developing the skills I would need to become a successful first year teacher. The final project for this course was the creation of a history unit aligned with Michigan’s social studies teaching standards.

This course was part of my student internship year through the MSU College of Education. The focus was to give further support to future educators. This course focused on developing a 10 day social studies unit which would then be taught to students. The unit had to align with the Michigan Social Studies Grade Level Content Expectations.

This course was part of my student internship year through the MSU College of Education. The course focused on creating a resume, job interviewing skills, and developing a portfolio to share with potential employers. I learned how to create an appropriate resume, how to answer difficult interview questions, and developed a portfolio to showcase all of my work from my internship year.

This course explored how we can use technology to address a range of teaching and education-related problems. To accomplish this we looked at well-structured, ill-structured, and wicked problems (problems that don’t always have a correct or one solution). After learning about wicked problems we then would conduct research on our own wicked problem to gather information to help make a future decision.

This course focused on exploring different methods of educational research. There was an early focus on readings centered around data gathering and research proposals. We also learned about how to craft meaningful interview questions. This transitioned into us developing and implementing our own survey centered around an issue in our classroom or workplace.

This course focused on the design process as it relates to education. It sought to have us develop a framework for helping us work through issues, problems, and solutions in regard to education. To accomplish this we utilized different design thinking models to help develop a problem of practice. This was a real world issue that we would seek to solve using the methods learned about in class.

This course explored the various theories of learning and how they have developed over time. It focused on theories such as Behaviorism, Cognitivism, Social Theories, Critical Theories, Out of School Learning, and Adult Theories of learning. Throughout the course we would learn about a new theory of learning, reflect on how we might have used this theory in the past or in the future, and reflect on how the theory fits into our own theory of learning. The final project involved us developing our own theory of learning based on the learning we participated in throughout the semester.

This course focused on the various aspects that go into designing and instructing in online spaces. It had a focus on the historical foundation of online teaching, course, management systems, universal design for learning, and creating communities in online spaces. We used research and theory to examine the uses of online learning. The final project involved creating our own online or hybrid unit that would be able to teach to students.

This course centered around learning, understanding, analyzing, and creating various types of assessment. Throughout the course we learned about how assessment has been used throughout history, reflected on our best and worst assessments, and created our own assessments with varying degrees of restrictions on the technique, responses, and structure of the assessments.

The course is centered around the creation of a professional website to showcase some of the work from the Masters program. I learned how to create a website, add pages, and showcase the work that I am proud of throughout my MAET program. My website gives insight into my work as both a student and educator. The capstone of this course was the Capstone Exhibition where I published and presented my professional website.
